Arrived at the Golden Gate bridge at 7:30 AM today to start the first of over 3,500 miles across the United States. We had a parent breakfast at the welcome center and the ride was dedicated to my parents for their 29th anniversary! An hour later, we were riding the 2 miles across the Golden Gate Bridge to begin our ride north. I had done about 15 miles of the route we had taken in past training so it was nice being familiar with the terrain. Parents brought the dog and met us for lunch in Petaluma.

We got into Napa Valley around 4:30PM and then immediately left for our first friendship visit at Kennedy Park in Napa Valley.

There, we had a cookout and awards presentation with the local Special Olympics and had fun connecting with the participants. Our whole team absolutely rocked the first visit and are excited for the ones to follow. After showering at a local gym, we spent the night at Napa Valley Methodist church. 70 miles tomorrow to Sacramento!
