Day 15: Salt Lake City, UT to Park City, UT

I didn't realize how close together Salt Lake City and Park City are. A small mountain range divides the two major cities of Utah, and we spent 30 miles today climbing up and then down to get into Park City. Because we got into lodging so early, we had time to explore the downtown area of Park City. There was a festival going on over the weekend so the main strip in the ski town was packed full of tents, vendors, food trucks, and music all at the base of the mountain. The sponsored dinner for the day was at a family's home hosted by parents of a past Journey of Hope participant. It was such a relaxing dinner, as we played ping pong, pool, video games, cornhole, and sat around the fire pit. The family who hosted us were so fun and even handed out awards to the cyclists. Some of these include a new tube for the person with the most flats, aloe for the cyclist with the most sunburn, and meds to help the loudest snorer of the pack. We said our goodbyes and headed back to lodging, where a group decided to go hit the town for a night of fun. I have loved most of the cities I have visited, but realistically, Park City is one where I can see myself buying a mountain home down the road.
