I loved being able to spend an entire day in Park City. I had never visited a ski resort during the summer so it was different for me to see chairlifts taking up mountain bikers instead of skiers. For our morning activity, our group visited the Park City Winter Olympic Training Center. There, we watched future olympics skiers going off huge jumps, doing tricks in midair, and then gracefully landing in the pool 20 feet below. Park City was the host of the 2002 Winter Olympics so we toured an entire museum dedicated to that year's olympics. In addition, we ziplined down a tall mountain and watched highlights from the events that occurred in the same place but 17 years ago. In the afternoon, our team headed to the National Ability Center in Park City to hangout with the campers. There, people of all abilities are able to participate in archery, mountain biking, horse riding, challenge courses, sports, and more. We helped lead a scavenger hunt for the campers that took us around the whole facility. It was reminiscent of my job last summer as a teen camp counselor at the YMCA and had a blast in the outdoor games. We ate a sponsored dinner at Squatter's Grill in downtown Park City, and later explored the area, with my favorite place being a sock shop. We ended the night by having our safety committee meeting, followed by our group weekly meeting. I gave the friendship award to a cyclist name Derek who had a special connection with one of the boy's we hungout with at Shriner hospital in Salt Lake City. We are ready to get back on the back after a well-deserved rest as we head 85 miles to Duchesne, UT, in the morning.
